💖 First Attraction & How to Avoid Heartbreak | Christian Youth Guidance

In youth life, “first attraction” is a very common experience. When someone catches our attention, we quickly start thinking — “Is this the one for me?” But often these feelings lead us to wrong decisions and heartbreak.

1️⃣ What is First Attraction?

Attraction is natural. Someone’s looks, words, or care may draw us. But attraction is not always true love.

"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are beneficial." – 1 Corinthians 6:12

2️⃣ Why Does Heartbreak Happen?

  • When we trust someone too quickly.
  • When we mistake attraction for love.
  • When we enter a relationship without seeking God’s will.
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." – Proverbs 4:23

3️⃣ How to Avoid Heartbreak

  • Pray first: Seek God’s direction before any relationship.
  • Seek wise counsel: Talk to parents, pastor, or spiritual mentors.
  • Don’t rush: Give time to your emotions and discernment.
  • Check with the Word: See if this relationship aligns with God’s will.

4️⃣ What is True Love?

True love is not only feelings but sacrifice and faithfulness.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

🔚 Conclusion

First attraction is natural, but rushing into it can lead to wrong decisions and pain. The best way to avoid heartbreak is to place every relationship in God’s hands. Make sure not to enter into any relationship before the right time. Wait patiently, and when you feel the right time has come, surrender everything to God, seek the right life partner, and then marry. Until then, keep yourself safe from all kinds of vain talks and distractions."

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." – Psalm 37:4

👉 If it’s God’s will, the right person will come at the right time.
